The Cross C Ranch is a family owned and operated outfit. We are located in the Laramie Mountain Range, 30 miles West of Wheatland, Wyoming. The Ranch is a 20,000+ acre privately owned outfitting and cattle ranch. We have managed the ranch for trophy mule deer, whitetail deer, elk, and antelope for over 30 years. We are a mid-sized operation that offers amazing hunting opportunities on our own ranch, not someone else’s leased properties.
The Ranch emboldens the spirit of the American West throughout the year, but from October through January the Cross C Ranch provides guided trophy gun hunts on a wide variety of Big Game Species. We are one of the oldest and most experienced outfitters in Wyoming with certification from the Wyoming Outfitters and Guides Association and The State of Wyoming Board of Outfitters and Professional Guides.
Wyoming Area 7 Elk tags are very hard to come by today. Most applicants need 5 or more preference points to have a good chance at drawing. Since this is nearly a once in a decade chance, let the experience and knowledge of the guides at the Cross “C” Ranch get you the Wyoming Bull Elk of a lifetime. We are very proud of the unit that Area 7 has become, so let us show you why we think its the best around!
Excellent trophy mule deer herds flourish on the ranch with a large local herd of elk on nearby Squaw and Moonshine Mountains. The Ranch offers the hunter a rare opportunity to hunt for multiple species with a near 100% success rate. We strictly manage the herds on the ranch to provide Trophy Hunters with opportunities at mature game only. In doing this we are also happy to offer Doe or Cow/Calf Hunts & Management Hunts along with our Trophy Hunts.
At the Cross “C” Ranch we have a very diverse and lush habitat for both Mule Deer and Whitetail Deer. We have several vibrant alfalfa fields that line a beautiful cottonwood river bottom that plays home to both species throughout the year. Much of the Ranch is also made up of timeless high country ridges and valleys where everything from Mule Deer to Elk, Big Horn Sheep & Black Bear make their home. The deer hunting on the Ranch is truly special as it is run out of our Hunting Lodge with excellent access to the entire Ranch.
Wyoming has many outstanding places for Antelope, that is certain. What makes the Cross “C” Ranch different is the entire Antelope experience. There are no motel rooms or pack tents here! Hunt out of our deluxe Hunting Lodge, fish in our stocked ponds, or even take a shot at our 1000 yard steel rifle range during your stay. Oh yeah, we got some great Pronghorn Bucks too!
Wyoming has some pretty big country, with all that country comes some pretty big predators! We offer trespass Coyote Hunting packages as well as fully guided Mountain Lion Hunts in the winter months.
A modern lodge with deluxe accommodations and first class home cooked meals are provided for all hunts. The hunting lodge sleeps 12 comfortably with two bathrooms, fireplace, walk-in cooler and other modern accommodations. All hunts are fully guided. ATV’s and other 4WD vehicles are the preferred transportation. Our guides are professional, experienced and work hard to provide you with a first class Western Big Game hunting experience.
The Cross C Ranch is all privately owned and accessed. No public hunting is allowed. We are ideal for group hunts and well equipped for just about any other outdoor adventure. Non hunting family or friends are welcome for an additional fee per day. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns about your upcoming western adventure!
The summer months offer some beautiful views and lots of great activities on the Cross “C’ Ranch. One of the favorite past times of the Western Outdoorsman is Prairie Dog Hunting. Along with extensive amounts of prairie dogs, we also have an amazing 1000+ yd steel rifle range to even further assist with those bragging rights!
The deer season typically is October 15th thru the 25th. Our deer hunts are offered in 2 (two) 5 Day blocks during those 11 days of the deer season. (Note: The Wyoming Game and Fish reviews the Deer Season dates on an annual basis, so the season dates are subject to change.) For any drawing or area specific questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us!
Our Wyoming Elk Hunting is absolutely some of the best in the United States. We are in the coveted area 7, widely known for plentiful amounts of record setting bulls. We control the hunting on virtually 100% of the 17,000 acre ranch. You can expect to get 225 – 250+ pounds of clean, lean, organic meat from a mature bull, and around 150 – 175+ pounds of meat for a cow.
The application period for Antelope is January 1st through May 31st. We do recommend that you apply for the drawing as the Wyoming Game and Fish continues to limit licenses in our unit. Results are generally available around June 30th for Antelope and Deer in Wyoming. Antelope Hunting dates start on October 5th and go through October 31st. Our Antelope hunting is primarily spot and stalk as Antelope tend to move often. We hunt our herds of Antelope on the plains and rolling hills as well as around our cottonwood river bottoms.
We offer 4 Day Antelope only hunts based out of our Hunting Lodge as it is generally easy to move around and see a wide array of Antelope. Some walking is required for Antelope as we only pursue and take game on the Cross C Ranch with “Fair Chase” methods. Additional days can be arranged upon request, and all combo hunts are all priced for 5 Days.
At the Cross C Ranch we offer both guided and trespass Fly Fishing options out of our centrally located Hunting Lodge on any of our stocked ponds or one of our 2 fully accessible rivers. Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout & Cut-bows are common throughout the waters within the Ranch. Our Hunting Lodge is available from April 1st – August 15th for rent and Fly Fishing packages can be negotiated by the day, week, or longer.
