In real elk country. This may not seem like a big deal but most elk ranches are not in the high mountains. We have a true high mountain ranch located at 9200 feet, is near Crawford Colorado. You would be hard pressed to find a more beautiful Trophy Elk Ranch anywhere in the world. The mountainous terrain contains spruce and aspen covered slopes with open alpine parks. Located only a few miles from Black Canyon National Park and we are located within easy driving distance of three airports. We will pick up guests at any of these airports, or a rental vehicle can be arranged.
During this time of the year you will be experiencing the excitement of fighting and bugling bulls. The social activity of elk in the rut can only be truly experienced by being there. If you want this type of hunt you need to book it early these hunts are the first to go.

Our greatest attribute to our hunting operation is our location. We are located on the north rim of the Black Canyon, off of Colorado HWY 92 between Crawford Colorado and the Morrow Point Dam of Blue Mesa Reservoir.
Homestead Ranch, located at 9200 feet, is near Crawford, Colorado. The ranch sits on 3000 plus acres with spectacular views of surrounding mountains in western Colorado. Arrangements can be made to pick up guests at any of these airports.
We are surrounded by 12,000 to 14,000 foot mountains. The San Juan range on our south and the Collegiate Range to the east and the West Elk mountains are north and west of the ranch.

You will count your guide among your friends before you leave. Your guide designs the hunt around your needs. Most hunting trips are usually three days.
The prices of the hunt depend on the size of the bull. All bulls are scored by the Safari Club International criteria.

The package does not include:
Tip, alcohol purchases, processing of meat, taxidermy, or other charges not included in the above mention items. Non- hunters are $150.00 per day, which includes room and board.

Your accommodations are first class with a private room in our beautiful Black Mesa Lodge. Our lodge is a modern 10,000 square foot building. It also has a dining room, cash bar, big screen television and other wonderful amenities. Learn more about our lodge and accommodations.
You will be in some of the most beautiful country in Colorado. Scenic mountain terrain with spruce, aspen, and sagebrush covered slopes with open alpine parks.
